July 3
Andrew and I woke up early from the Billingtons to catch our flight to L.A. which went by like a breeze. After finding the ticket counter for Guatemala which was really nonexistent, we decided to catch a bus to the beach towns. After 40 mins on the public bus we ended up in Rodondo beach, one of the more commercialized ones that I’ve been to. Since our Flight was not for another 1 hours, we were forced to tow our luggeges everywhere we went. Although this was the first step of our “adventure” I think that us not knowing anyone made us begin to anticipate the possibility of lonely and frustrating times ahead. A bright light chased our gloomy thoughts away when Victoria half surprisingly showed up at the airport. Bless her beautiful heart. She traveled 2 hrs and 45 min on tram and bus to see us one last time. After she left we checked in and eagerly waited for the real adventure to begin.
